Deanna
In Loving Memory of
Deana LaRae Hamilton Hughes,
1967 - 2007
The DLH Foundation's Creating a Community for a Cure Web site is continuously evolving. As we make progress, our goal is to help patients and their loved ones find useful information, share information, and seek feedback in a compassionate and supportive environment.

Our focus is exclusively on gastro-esophageal cancers. We are the family and friends - the survivors - of the journey that ended the life of Deana Hamilton Hughes at the age of 39. It is to honor her memory that we created the DLH Foundation.

We understand the fear; the overwhelming amount of information needing to be sifted through; the agonizing over choices at 2:00 a.m. in the morning; being up for the third day straight doing research on the internet that might, just might, lead to a cure for our loved one; and all the rest of the ups and downs a cancer battle takes on a patient and their family and friends.

Each April, we organize an annual fundraiser to gather together as a community with other victims, family and friends of gastro-esophageal cancers.  This fundraising event helps fund our mission and also gives us an opportunity to celebrate life.   Your donation or participation at Wine & Chocolate - The Perfect Pair Tasting and Auction on April 27, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. would be greatly appreciated and sincerely welcomed.

While we weren't able to beat Deana's cancer, we came through the process determined to try to make it just a little easier for those who would follow. Together we will share information; together we will continue to travel this journey; and together we will continue to search for a cure.
